Marketing & Operations Coordinator
K. Johnson Studio, Des Moines, IA, United States
The role
This is a part-time coordinator position supporting both client work and internal studio operations. You will touch a little of everything: updating branded collateral, scheduling vendor shoots, drafting newsletters, and keeping our project tools organized. No two weeks look exactly the same.
We are looking for someone who is as comfortable in Canva as they are in a client meeting, can manage a content calendar without being micromanaged, and understands that in a boutique consultancy, every touchpoint reflects on the brand.
What you’ll do
Update and create branded materials including brochures, flyers, and social content in Canva using established brand guidelines
Make basic updates to client and studio websites (Wix, WordPress)
Draft, design, and send email newsletters in Mailchimp that are accurate, on‑brand, and strategically sound
Schedule and coordinate vendors including photographers and print and decal partners on behalf of clients
Manage calendars and scheduling across the team and for client engagements
Keep digital files, folders, and project management tools (ClickUp, Airtable) organized and up to date
Post across social media platforms and assist with basic social media and Google Ads campaigns
Research vendors and pricing options and bring thoughtful recommendations to the team
Assist clients with brand trademark evidence of use gathering
Help coordinate modest‑size events as needed
Handle sensitive client and business information with complete discretion
What we’re looking for
Minimum 2 years of professional work experience; 3+ years preferred
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. This is non‑negotiable.
Strong written communication and client‑facing professionalism
Comfortable across the tools listed above, or genuinely eager to learn them quickly
Experience at a marketing or creative agency is a meaningful plus
Able to use AI tools to work smarter while bringing your own thinking to the table
A "get things done" mentality: you see what needs to happen and you make it happen
Must be based in the Des Moines, IA metro area and available during normal business hours
Starts at 15-20 hours per week
The position can remain part‑time or can be considered for a full‑time role as business expands
