Technical Writer
to work alongside our builders and engineers to create the manuals, guides, and reports that keep our machines running.
In this role, you will translate electrical schematics and machine control logic into clear, actionable documentation for engineers, operators, and customers. Your work ensures every machine we ship is fully understood, operable, and supportable.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Floor Collaboration:
Work directly with machine builders and controls engineers to gather technical specifications and verify machine operation Technical Documentation:
Develop and maintain manuals, troubleshooting guides, and SOPs using Adobe FrameMaker Schematic Translation:
Translate electrical schematics and mechanical drawings into clear setup and maintenance instructions Visual Documentation:
Create diagrams and annotated visuals to illustrate mechanical and electrical assemblies Hands-on Validation:
Test documentation against actual machines to ensure accuracy prior to shipment Document Control:
Maintain versioning and revision tracking within the content management system Technical Sales Support:
Assist in developing technical product sheets and supporting materials
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Technical Communication, or a related field Experience:
3–5 years in manufacturing, industrial automation, or similar environment Technical Communication:
Ability to take complex machine functions and explain them clearly for manuals and product guides
Skills & Tools:
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker and Microsoft Office Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat) Familiarity with document control/version management systems Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
Nice to Have:
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment Background in custom machinery or industrial systems Experience documenting electromechanical assemblies
