Motivated by the love of Jesus, we work to end trafficking and to empower survivors to reclaim the lives they were created to live through healing their whole person. In addition to other programs, North Star operates two residential programs in Lancaster and Berks counties and a separate social enterprise, Florissant Collective.
Summary
The Media and Marketing Coordinator winsomely and effectively engages the community around North Star’s mission and vision through creatively designed digital and written communication, engaging events, and effective online platforms. This is a part-time, hourly position (25-30 hours/week). Position reports to the Development Director and liaises with the Development and Marketing team.
Media & Marketing Coordinator must be
Willing to sign the North Star Initiative Statement of Faith (Code of Beliefs)
Willing to sign the Kingdom Living policy
A current and active member and/or regular attendee of a local church
Able to fully support the North Star Initiative's core values and ministry philosophy.
Essential Functions
Designs and executes the annual marketing plan, including database marketing, email newsletters, social media posts, and display advertising campaigns
Maintains North Star and Florissant Collective’s social media presence in alignment with brand guides, voices, and engagement objectives, creating compelling visuals and mission-aligned messaging.
Collaborates with Development Director to develop and reach goals for fundraising, audience growth and engagement; and tracks progress towards goals (donor conversion rate, .5-1.5% annually)
Provides monthly, quarterly and annual communication reports, outlining campaign performance and identifying opportunities for growth
Stays informed of trends and insights, optimizes content based on insights
Tracks performance metrics, analyzes engagement data and provides insights to improve content strategy and demonstrate ROI
Monitors and responds to comments, messages and inquiries promptly, fostering positive engagement and donor relationships
Provides graphic and video design for printed pieces, merchandise, and short-form posts for social media
Manages publication of donor communications as delegated by the Development Director (email list growth, 2-4% monthly, 20-30% annually; 1-2 campaigns/month with 10-25% spikes during campaigns)
Brainstorms new and creative strategies for growth in audience reach (2-5% monthly, 20-30% annually)
Creates website landing pages and optimizes user experience online (5-10% monthly increase in website traffic)
Collaborates with agencies and partners to produce engaging content consistent with NSI’s brand guide (engagement rate, 2-4% monthly; engagement growth, +5-10% monthly)
Updates and maintains outreach and marketing materials and collateral for consistent and positive messaging and branding; plans and executes video and photo shoots
Assists with event planning/execution, as delegated by the DevMark (Development & Marketing) team
Additional responsibilities as determined by program needs and/or assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
Requirements
Education and Experience
Minimum
Associate’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline, or relevant experience
Experience managing digital content for a brand or organization
Experience segmenting communication and tracking SEO and ROI
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
Experience designing branded designs and videos
Must be over 21 years of age
Preferred
Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Non‑Profit Management, Communication, or related fields, or commensurate lived experience
Two or more years of experience managing communication, marketing, or a related field; proficiency managing campaigns, creating written content
Proficiency in website and marketing tools (Google Analytics, social media platforms, basic video editing, etc.)
Demonstrated creative communication skills in support of a brand or cause, experience managing communication campaigns
Understanding of effective, integrated non‑profit fundraising rhythms
Grant writing and grant reporting experience

Cultural competency, ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds and cultures
