Icon Global Media, Dallas, TX, United States

Compensation: $60,000 to $66,000 base salary & performance incentive (see below) About Icon Global Media Icon Global Media ("Icon") is a premium digital media and brand partner built for world-class talent, teams, and brands. We operate at the intersection of culture, sport, and storytelling, delivering full-scale brand management, marketing strategy, social media operations, and high-end production across digital, social, and commercial work. Our mission is simple: build iconic brands for the digital era. We work with elite clients including top athletes, global brands, and sports franchises, and we hold ourselves to an exceptionally high creative and execution standard. The Role The Assistant Editor supports the Lead Editor and the broader YouTube division by owning the foundational, repeatable stages of the post-production process for Icon's YouTube clients, including Bryson DeChambeau's channel, one of the most-watched athlete creator channels in the world. Your job is to assemble and shape raw footage into a strong first cut. This includes ingesting, organizing, syncing, rough cutting, inserting graphics, music, and effects, and delivering a polished, semi-finished product that is ready for the Lead Editor to take to final. You are also responsible for quality control on your own work and maintaining the project files and asset management systems that keep the post-production pipeline running cleanly. This role requires someone who is detail-obsessed, team-oriented, and self-motivated. You don't wait to be told what to do next. You see what needs to happen and you make it happen. When a shoot wraps, you're already setting up the project file before anyone asks. When you spot an issue in a timeline, you flag it and fix it. You take pride in making the people around you faster and better at their jobs. This is a rare opportunity to work on one of the biggest athlete creator channels on YouTube at a company that is building something special. Icon is in a high-growth phase. We are expanding our YouTube division, scaling our Brand Studio, and working with world-class talent at the highest level of the creator eco-system. The right person in this role won't just support the team, they will grow with it. As the company grows, you will have the opportunity to take on more leadership, lead edits on high-profile projects, experiment with new styles that push how we tell stories, and build a real career in premium content production. What You'll Do Video Editing and Post-Production Organize, label, sync, and manage all raw footage, audio, and assets, including building multicam sequences and selects from multi-camera shoots Build first-pass rough cuts following our processes, including trimming, pacing, syncing audio, laying in music, and adding on-screen graphics, sound effects, and tracers Handle basic audio leveling, effects, and color correction to deliver a polished, semi-finished edit ready for the Lead Editor to take to final Short-Form Editing Edit YouTube Shorts and short-form clips from long-form content, optimizing for vertical formats and platform-specific pacing Identify strong moments, highlights, and quotable segments from long-form footage that could perform well as standalone short-form content Stay current on short-form trends, formats, and editing styles to bring fresh ideas for repurposing content across YouTube Shorts and social platforms Quality Control Review all work before handoff to catch errors, ensure every step in the pipeline has been completed properly, and confirm the edit meets the channel's quality standard Check that audio is clean and synced, graphics are correctly placed, color is consistent across cameras, and visuals are error-free Flag potential issues and questions to the Lead Editor proactively rather than waiting for them to be caught downstream Collaboration and Creative Input Participate in brainstorms and contribute original ideas for future content Collaborate with the Lead Editor and team to refine and improve projects during revisions Execute revision passes based on feedback from the Lead Editor and Strategist and Channel Manager Asset Management and Workflow Maintain clean, consistent project file structures, labeling files accurately and storing assets in correct locations following company standards Track project status, deadlines, and deliverables in the project management system Archive completed projects, manage media storage and backup protocols, and assist with edit suite maintenance What We’re Looking For You are detail-obsessed, proactive, and driven. You don't just complete tasks, you anticipate what's needed next and take initiative before being asked. You care about the small things: clean file names, properly synced audio, labeled timelines, frame-accurate cuts. You understand that quality is built in the details. You're a team player who buys into the vision, supports the people around you, and takes ownership of your work like the channel depends on it, because it does. You approach each project with a growth mindset, striving to improve your craft every single day. You want to be part of something that's growing fast and you're ready to earn your seat at the table through work ethic, reliability, and a relentless commitment to getting better. Icon is building one of the most exciting creator operations in sports, and this position is your entry point into it. Months 1 to 3: Master the workflow. Deliver clean, fast assembly cuts and project files that make the Lead Editor's job easier. Months 3 to 6: Take on more creative responsibility. Rough cuts with pacing decisions, short-form edits with your own creative input, and more autonomy on revision passes. Month 6+: Develop toward a Junior Editor role with increasing ownership of full edits under the Lead Editor's mentorship. As Icon scales its YouTube division and expands to additional creator channels and brand clients, this role grows with it. The opportunity to advance into a Junior Editor or Editor role, leading edits on high-profile projects, developing your own creative voice, and shaping how one of the biggest athlete brands in the world tells its story on YouTube, is real and it starts here. #J-18808-Ljbffr
