The Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership, implementation, and continuous improvement of ABCF’s core programs, with a focus on expanding access to breast cancer screening and diagnostic services. This role ensures high-quality, patient-centered service delivery, compliance with funding requirements, and measurable outcomes aligned with our mission. The Program Director works cross-functionally with Operations, Development, and Marketing and leads community outreach efforts to build strong referral pathways with healthcare providers and community-based organizations. This role is well-suited for a high-performing program manager ready to step into a director-level position within a small, mission-driven organization. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Responsibilities
Program Management & Operations (Primary Focus)
Oversee and manage the day-to-day execution of program(s), including eligibility, application process, service delivery, and follow up. Develop, document, and maintain program policies, procedures, and workflows, identifying operational risks and implement solutions to improve efficiency and participant experience Track program outputs, outcomes, and impact metrics; use data to drive continuous improvement Partner with the Development team to support grant applications, including providing programmatic content and data Support the development and management of program reports and budgets for leadership and funders Coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and consultants to support program delivery Community Outreach & Referral Development (Secondary Focus)
Build and maintain a targeted referral network of healthcare providers, imaging centers, social service agencies, and community organizations serving underserved populations Lead outreach meetings and presentations with referral partners Collaborate with marketing partners to develop and maintain referral tools (e.g., program one-pagers, eligibility summaries, intake materials) Serve as a point of contact for complex or high-priority referrals Identify gaps in access or awareness and communicate insights to leadership Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise one program staff member Provide coaching, performance feedback, and support to ensure effective program delivery Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience 5 - 8 years of experience in program coordination or management in medical advocacy, patient navigation, or healthcare access programs Demonstrated experience with program operations, reporting, and compliance Strong administrative technology capabilities – comfortable navigating software and cloud-based platforms for day-to-day operations. Strong organizational, analytical, and project management skills Self-starter who thrives in small, fast-paced environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Comfort working in a remote team environment Work EST hours 9a-5pm. Preferred
