Audit Director – Government & Nonprofits (Oregon / Hybrid)
Salary: $220,000 - $230,000 per year
Job Title: Audit Director – Government & Nonprofits
Location: Oregon (Hybrid)
Our client, a Top 100 CPA firm with a strong regional presence, is looking for an experienced audit professional to lead our Assurance & Advisory engagements in the government and nonprofit sectors. The role involves providing leadership and guidance on audit engagements, client relationship management, and ensuring the highest quality of audit services.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple audit engagements, ensuring quality delivery to government and nonprofit clients.
Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients to understand their business needs and provide appropriate solutions.
Provide technical guidance and share knowledge with team members on audit and assurance matters, particularly related to GAAP and the nonprofit sector.
Develop audit plans and strategies by understanding organization objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations.
Review audit work papers and financial statements for compliance with professional and firm standards.
Supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff. Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback and training.
Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the client's business and industry.
Participate in business development initiatives that contribute to the growth of the firm.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA certification is required.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting (with at least 2 years in a leadership role) focused on auditing government and nonprofit entities.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation and audits.
Proven experience as a supervisor or team leader, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff members.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to understand and address client needs effectively.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly.
High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
