Company Description Our client is searching for a strong Tax Director to oversee all aspects of the Company’s tax function, including strategy, compliance, reporting, and planning. Their ideal candidate must have tax provisions experience in a corporate setting, and ideally a public accounting upbringing with a CPA license.

Responsibilities

Oversee U.S. federal, state, and local tax compliance, including review of complex corporate and partnership returns, tax projections, quarterly estimates, and partner distributions.

Lead the preparation and review of income tax provisions under ASC 740, including validation of assumptions, journal entries, effective tax rate analysis, and financial statement disclosures.

Own the quarterly and annual tax provision process end-to-end, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with financial reporting requirements.

Manage property tax, business licenses, sales & use tax, and other indirect/local tax filings, including oversight of audits and resolution of tax authority inquiries.

Develop and execute strategic tax planning initiatives to minimize liabilities, optimize the effective tax rate, and support business growth.

Ensure adherence to reporting standards, internal controls, and SOX compliance; proactively identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Legal, and SEC reporting teams on tax forecasting, entity structuring, and financial reporting matters.

Provide executive-level tax reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making.

Manage and oversee relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and auditors to ensure high-quality deliverables and timely execution.

Monitor and interpret changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the organization; lead implementation of required changes.

Oversee tax risk management, including uncertain tax positions and documentation in accordance with ASC 740-10.

Drive continuous improvement in tax processes, systems, and data integrity, including implementation of tax technology solutions.

Mentor and develop internal tax team members, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.

Support M&A activities, including due diligence, structuring, and post-transaction integration from a tax perspective.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related degree

Tax Provisions experience is required.

Corporate Tax experience is required.

Public Accounting experience is highly desired.

CPA license is highly desired.

Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams, business leaders, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results
