Position
Project Coordinator: Communications & Marketing – Full‑time, Non‑exempt (Hourly).
Location: Hybrid-Remote; occasional onsite and in‑field travel within Southern CA.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly: $23.08 – $31.25 ($48,000 – $65,000 annually), based on qualifications and experience. Eligible for all company benefits.
Job Summary The Energy Coalition (TEC) seeks a full‑time Project Coordinator on the Marketing, Education, and Outreach (ME&O) team with a specific focus on communications and marketing. The role will develop collateral, support outreach deliverables such as workshops, webinars, and presentations, and provide administrative and coordination support to the department.
Responsibilities
Develop visual identities, websites, print materials, newsletters, social media assets, icons, illustrations, and other marketing materials.
Support and coordinate in‑person and virtual marketing events, such as conference sessions and webinars, and maintain marketing materials inventory.
Track project details and documents, keeping the team up‑to‑date on progress and potential barriers to meet timelines.
Provide copywriting support and maintain/refresh website content.
Coordinate additional support tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
1–3 years of relevant work experience.
Experience supporting marketing campaigns: content development, scheduling, and participating in strategy planning conversations.
Creative thinking skills and eye for design.
Strong oral and written communication; proficiency in English; familiar with translating legislation and government‑related news for targeted audiences.
Knowledge of print and broadcast media style guides.
Experience supporting social media campaigns, editorial calendars, and content management.
Organizing and maintaining program documents.
Graphic design skills: layout, proposal templates, using appropriate software; familiarity with industry printing standards and with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint, Canva, Figma, or Inkscape.
Website skills: basic HTML/CSS, familiarity with Google Analytics and Squarespace/Wordpress CMS.
Writing skills: strong copywriting, business correspondence, attention to detail, organizational and time‑management skills, ability to “manage up” and coordinate with vendors.
Available for occasional outside business hours, nights, and weekends.
“Can‑do” attitude, flexibility, commitment to a positive work environment, confident representation of TEC, and active cell‑phone plan.
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in community engagement, cultural awareness, and environmental justice.
Event coordination experience.
Experience with Google Docs, Drive, and Apps.
Familiarity with Salesforce platform.
Video and photography skills: capability with recording equipment, video editing, motion graphics, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Media Encoder, HandBrake, and basic portrait shooting and lighting.
