Digital Product Manager
Trupanion, Seattle, WA, United States
Job Description
The Product Manager leads the development and optimization of our growth and retention digital platforms. You will collaborate with cross‑functional partners—including product managers, engineers, UX/UI designers, marketers, and business stakeholders—to deliver technical solutions that enhance user experience, performance, and business outcomes. You will own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle, from strategy to execution, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous improvement.
This position is open to candidates in the Seattle area. You will have a hybrid remote/in‑office schedule, working from our casual, pet‑friendly office at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
Own the product roadmap for your area; drive strategic planning and release planning with clear articulation of tradeoffs, sequencing rationale, and alignment to business goals.
Independently synthesize customer feedback, usage data, and market signals into actionable product requirements and experience improvements, partnering with the Marketing team for insights—operating proactively without waiting for direction.
Define, own, and report on product success metrics (KPIs/OKRs) such as engagement, conversion, retention, and issue reduction; use data to consult with business teams on prioritization decisions rather than relying solely on stakeholder requests.
Own a meaningful product area end‑to‑end—managing the backlog, driving story refinement, prioritization, and sprint planning with a clear focus on measurable outcomes.
Translate company goals into a 6–12 month product roadmap; write user stories, acceptance criteria, and epics that link directly to business objectives, user outcomes, and technical feasibility.
Drive cross‑functional alignment across Engineering, Design, Data, and Business stakeholders—managing up and across without being prompted; represent the product area clearly in executive and stakeholder reviews.
Collaborate with Engineering, UX, QA, and DevOps to ensure timely and high‑quality product delivery.
Identify and elevate product risks, blockers, or gaps in experience or functionality.
Ensure technical, operational, and legal/compliance considerations are factored into feature design and planning.
Lead discovery efforts to gather and synthesize input from customers, internal users, and stakeholders (VOC & VOB).
Support customer journey mapping, process documentation, and impact analysis across systems.
Represent Product in Agile ceremonies, cross‑functional meetings, and stakeholder reviews.
Skills
Demonstrated track record of independently translating business strategy, user research, and market signals into clear, outcome‑driven product requirements—without requiring ongoing manager direction.
Strong cross‑functional influence skills—able to align Engineering, UX, Data, Marketing, and business stakeholders around a shared product direction, including navigating competing priorities and difficult tradeoffs.
Ability to build and communicate a compelling product roadmap to senior stakeholders—articulating prioritization rationale, sequencing tradeoffs, and strategic intent clearly and confidently.
Ownership of the full discovery‑to‑delivery cycle: user research, story writing, acceptance criteria, backlog management, and post‑launch iteration based on data.
Strong analytical skills with ability to define and track KPIs for product performance.
Deep proficiency in user experience principles, experimentation (A/B and multivariate testing), and iterative delivery— with the ability to design and interpret experiments independently to drive product decisions.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on customer impact and business value.
Proficient in Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and analytics platforms like Google Analytics or Mixpanel.
Understanding of system integrations and technical constraints in digital environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in product management, digital product development, or related role.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $130,000 – $150,000, on a full‑time schedule.
Along with base salary, Trupanion employees may be eligible for monthly bonuses.
All new team members receive Restricted Stock Units that vest over 4 years.

Full medical, dental, and vision benefits at no cost to the employee.
Four weeks of paid time off and nine paid float holidays.
Five‑week sabbatical after five years of employment.
Open, casual, pet‑friendly, and fun office environment.
Free medical health insurance for your pet (1 dog or cat).
Paid time off to volunteer at nonprofit organizations.
Seattle office amenities: free on‑site gym, free dog walking services for office pets during business hours, free parking, and paid ORCA cards.
