The AI Enablement Storytelling and Marketing team is responsible for bringing the story of AI at 84.51° to life — translating complex technology and data into compelling, accessible narratives for a variety of audiences. We create the materials, frameworks, and visual assets that help internal and external stakeholders understand and engage with our AI capabilities.
As the
Visual Storyteller , you will be an integral part of solving visual communication challenges for users and stakeholders across the business. You have a passion for innovative design with a user‑centered focus — you know how to create engaging, readable experiences and you love finding creative answers to unusual problems. You'll take information‑dense content and transform it into polished, reusable, brand‑aligned presentations, white papers, and visual assets that resonate across audiences. You thrive on feedback and improvement, and you're excited to develop your skills within our Experience Design organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Transform raw, unpolished content — including mixed‑format slide decks, screenshots, and hand‑drawn diagrams — into compelling, digestible visual stories that align with 84.51° & Kroger brand standards
Build and maintain a library of templatized marketing and storytelling assets for the AI Enablement team, working through a backlog of needed assets to create reusable, scalable frameworks
Develop white paper templates in PowerPoint that allow multiple versions to be published for different audiences on the same topic
Rebuild and redesign charts and graphs from Excel into polished, brand‑aligned PowerPoint visuals
Communicate design needs with your team through appropriate documentation, layouts, mockups, and production‑ready assets
Apply a strong understanding of form, layout, and visual hierarchy to ensure all materials are readable, professional, and audience‑appropriate
Collaborate on a cross‑functional team comprised of product, design, data science, and engineering to deliver a unified, quality visual experience across AI Enablement materials
Meet with stakeholders to develop an understanding of their needs and translate them into effective visual communication solutions
Deliver high‑quality assets on quick turnaround timelines, managing multiple requests and priorities simultaneously
Maintain and apply 84.51° & Kroger brand guidelines consistently across all deliverables
Represent the interests of good design and user needs to your team and stakeholders
Stay curious about AI and emerging technology, developing a working knowledge that informs how you communicate complex topics visually
Take ownership of your personal professional growth, setting objectives and finding ways to achieve them as you advance within our design organization
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
Exceptional PowerPoint skills — ability to build sophisticated, brand‑aligned presentations from scratch or from rough, unpolished inputs
Proficiency in Adobe Suite required - High level of proficiency in Illustrator & Photoshop is necessary. Basic working knowledge in other Adobe software is desirable.
Strong grasp of brand standards and experience applying existing visual guidelines consistently across deliverables
Demonstrated ability to translate complex, information‑dense content into clear, visually compelling materials for multiple audiences
Strong sense of form, layout, and visual hierarchy
Experience working in fast‑paced environments with quick‑turn project timelines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
Demonstrated skill in creative thinking and problem solving
Ability to work with frequent ambiguity and change
Excitement and willingness to learn new skills and try new methods and approaches
Familiarity with Figma is a plus
Animation experience is a plus; After Effects experience specifically preferred
General interest in and understanding of AI and technology
1‑2 years of relevant experience in visual communication, graphic design, or a related field
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Experience Design, or equivalent experience
Pay Transparency and Benefits
The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest. Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job‑related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
