
Dealer Business Consultant

Works with dealership management teams to define performance, set strategic direction, and drive business development and growth. This role leverages key performance indicators to identify opportunities, improve operational efficiency, and implement strategic initiatives. The Dealer Business Consultant embeds within dealership operations to analyze processes, recommend improvements, and enhance profitability across sales, service, and parts. This position plays a critical role in driving measurable business outcomes and supporting long‑term growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities
Perform in‑depth analysis and develop strategic plans to improve dealership performance across new vehicle sales, pre‑owned sales, service, and parts operations
Identify market opportunities and implement initiatives to drive value‑oriented growth
Act as a business partner to dealership leadership and collaborate with field managers to communicate and implement best practices
Introduce new operational processes and lead change management efforts within dealership teams
Coordinate focus groups, workshops, and training initiatives aligned with strategic business objectives
Conduct competitor and customer analysis to establish and implement industry best practices
Develop and track quantitative performance goals aligned with overall business objectives
Evaluate dealership operations to improve cash flow, reduce expenses, and increase efficiency
Ensure proper handling and retention of confidential business information in both electronic and non-electronic formats
Qualifications
At least 5 years General Manager experience
10 years of automotive experience
4 year college degree, masters preferred
10 years minimum experience
Preferred (Optional)
Consulting experience (not required but preferred)
Dealership ownership experience preferred

The base range for this contract position is $74 - $84 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
