Responsibilities As an
Outside Plant Fielder , you will conduct field assessments, surveys, and make-ready evaluations for utility pole attachments and network expansions.
In addition, you will:
OSP Fielder will complete site visits within the given market
Take legible field notes for the design of construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications
Analyze work site and design requests, then determine the scope of work to be completed
Deliver projects within the timeline and ensure the quality of work completed
Interact with internal and external customers, and represent Byers/MasTec and our client in a professional manner
Follow very specific and detailed procedures already implemented, while remaining flexible enough to readily adapt to changing standards and procedures without notice
Adhere to all company safety practices and policies
Pay attention to detail and communicate any concerns or updates with the OSP Designer
Qualifications About You:
Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
Relevant experience with utilities, cabling, or construction is also considered
Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
Above-average penmanship for hand‑drawn field notes
Knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Dropbox)
High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
You have a valid driver’s license, a non‑negligent driving record, and reliable transportation required
Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends; continue education for Engineering design and best practices
Must be local, as this role requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions + remote work when not in the field
Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site
Compensation Compensation of $25–35 per hour, depending on the experience.
