Company Description At Vexilar our team is driven by innovation and a passion for creating exceptional fishing adventures. Vexilar, a leader in sonar fish finders and other fishing-related products, seeks an experienced User Interface & Product Designer for developing new fish finder systems. This role is responsible for leading all UI/UX and brand development for the company along with supporting the overall design and launch of new fish finders and associated new products. The ideal candidate will be an avid fisherman and must have experience developing electronic consumer products.

The Role This is a full‑time role for designing our new fish finder systems. As a New Product Designer at Vexilar, you will be responsible for designing and creating visually appealing products and user‑friendly interfaces for our new system. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand user needs, conduct user research, and create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes. This is a hybrid role, primarily located in our office in Bloomington, MN, with the flexibility to work one day/week remotely.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the overall design of our fish finders and other products

Create user‑friendly interfaces for our fish finders

Lead new product development projects as project manager

Design functional and marketable packaging that matches our brand

Develop the look and feel for our brand(s)

Create proprietary, innovative and patentable new products

Manage the business case for new products

Deliver high quality, on‑time new product launches

Qualifications

Strong experience developing electronic consumer products

Background in industrial design or engineering

Strong skills in Visual Design, Mockups, and User Interface Design

Knowledge of User Experience (UX) principles

Proficient in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketch

Avid fisherperson

Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams

Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills

Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design/Engineering, Human‑Computer Interaction, or related field

Compensation

$70k - $110k range, based on experience
