Job Description
The Electrical Designer will support the design of retail, commercial, and educational projects within a production-focused environment. This role involves creating and coordinating electrical designs using Revit, while collaborating with project teams to deliver high-quality construction documents for a wide variety of building types.
Job Title Electrical Designer
Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for retail, commercial, and educational projects in alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
Produce detailed electrical drawings and models primarily using Revit, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
Utilize Bluebeam to review, mark up, and coordinate construction documents with project stakeholders.
Reference and understand AutoCAD drawings to support coordination with other disciplines and legacy project documentation.
Support a high-volume, production-heavy workload by delivering timely and accurate design outputs.
Collaborate with multi-discipline design and construction teams to help ensure smooth project start-up and execution.
Assist in revising and updating electrical designs based on feedback from senior staff and project partners.
Contribute to maintaining consistent design standards and documentation practices across multiple project types.
Qualifications
0–4+ years of experience in electrical design within the construction industry, including internship or college project experience.
Proficiency in Revit for electrical design and production of construction documents.
Ability to use Bluebeam for document review, markup, and collaboration.
Understanding of AutoCAD and the ability to interpret AutoCAD drawings for coordination.
Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles as they apply to building design.
Experience or exposure to electrical design for commercial and retail construction projects.
Ability to work in a production-heavy role with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience or education related to electrical engineering or electrical design.
Exposure to design work on educational facilities in addition to commercial and retail projects.
Interest in developing a long-term career in a design-build environment with opportunities for growth and learning.
Willingness to learn and adapt to a variety of project types and design standards.
Work Environment The role is based in an office environment, starting as a fully on-site position five days per week, with the opportunity to transition over time into a hybrid work arrangement. The organization operates as a multi-discipline design-build firm, offering exposure to a wide variety of project types and close collaboration with experienced senior staff whose average tenure is 17 years. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
