Commercial Portfolio Manager I, II or III

Job Summary The Commercial Portfolio Manager (CPM) will assist the Commercial Relationship Managers by completing underwriting and due diligence to help analyze new opportunities and close the loans in accordance with established lending objectives, policies and procedures. They will maintain and service existing customers as well as ensure credit quality guidelines and policies are met and monitored.

We will be filling this position in either Des Moines, Cedar Rapids or Omaha.

Primary Functions and/or Responsibilities

Assist the Commercial Relationship Manager by requesting and obtaining all information needed from the client or prospect to underwrite the credit request.

Work jointly with the credit department to appropriately underwrite the credit and develop the appropriate credit structure in relation to credit risk.

Monitor the portfolio, including financial tracking and monitoring maturing notes/annual reviews.

Conduct business in compliance with bank policies and procedures, and all federal and state laws and regulations.

Participate in meetings with the Commercial Relationship Manager to discuss work in process, exceptions, maturity notes, and annual reviews.

Meet with existing and/or prospective clients under the guidance of the Commercial Relationship Manager.

Attend meetings with the commercial lending department, industry specialists, and other interested parties to exchange information and ideas, and to understand the opinions of others.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

BA or BS degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred.

Four‑year college degree in a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

CPM I: At least two years of relevant commercial credit experience required.

CPM II: At least four years of relevant commercial credit analysis and/or portfolio management experience required.

CPM III: At least six years of relevant commercial credit and/or portfolio management experience required.

Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Ability to research and understand commercial and commercial real‑estate lending and banking regulations.

Ability to deal effectively with customers and all levels of the bank organization.

Commercial credit analysis required.

Hiring Base Salary Range The hiring range below reflects targeted base salary. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s prior related experience and education and will be finalized at the time of offer. In addition to base salary, most positions are also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program. Select positions may also be eligible to earn incentives and/or commissions.

Hiring Base Salary ranges: CPM I: $58,000 - $69,000, CPM II: $66,000 - $78,000, CPM III: $76,000 - $91,000. Plus Bonus.
