Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Salesforce Marketing Cloud Development Lead
to oversee the design, development, and implementation of marketing automation solutions. In this role you will lead a team of developers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver tailored solutions that enhance customer engagement and drive business growth. Your responsibilities will include managing the end‑to‑end development lifecycle for core marketing initiatives, lead flow processes, and data integrations within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. You will also ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment while staying up‑to‑date with the latest platform features and trends.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including expertise in tools such as Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and AMPScript. Proficiency in SQL, HTML, and JavaScript is essential, along with a proven track record of leading development teams and delivering complex marketing solutions.
This role can be fully remote/virtual/work from home and you can be based anywhere in the US.
How you'll make an impact
Lead the design, development, and implementation of Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and marketing strategies
Collaborate with internal marketing automation and technology teams to determine best path for Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform implementation
Oversee the creation and optimization of marketing automation workflows using tools like Journey Builder, Email Studio, and Automation Studio
Develop and maintain custom solutions using AMPscript, SQL, HTML, and JavaScript to enhance platform functionality
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions
Ensure data integrity and seamless integration between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and other systems, such as CRM platforms and data warehouses
Establish and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and deployment to maintain high‑quality deliverables
Stay updated on Salesforce Marketing Cloud features, trends, and industry best practices to drive innovation and continuous improvement
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the development team, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring the stability and reliability of marketing automation systems
Maintain and document technical processes and procedures and provide seamless hand‑off to business users to utilize
About You
Proven experience (5+ years ideally) working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including tools such as Journey Builder, Email Studio, Automation Studio, and Content Builder
Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g., Marketing Cloud Developer, Marketing Cloud Consultant) are highly desirable
Strong background in agile practices and associated tools
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders
Ability to elicit requirements and translate to technical solutions that can scale across multiple business units
Demonstrated ability to lead development teams and manage end‑to‑end project lifecycles
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize performance
Strong proficiency in AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for developing and customizing marketing solutions
Experience with data integration and APIs, including REST and SOAP, to connect Salesforce Marketing Cloud with other systems
Familiarity with Salesforce CRM and its integration with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and their impact on marketing practices
