POSITION PURPOSE The Designer specializing in New Product Introduction will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and excellence in the design of cutting‑edge heat rejection equipment for global markets. The primary purpose is to lead the design efforts from concept to product launch, utilizing design automation tools and techniques in accordance with BAC and industry standards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Basic proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, etc.)

Introductory knowledge of sheet metal design and simple part modeling

Familiarity with bill of material (BOM) concepts and structures

Awareness of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) principles

Developing communication skills to collaborate with team members

Demonstrated ability to follow guidance and contribute to design deliverables

Exposure to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) concepts

Interest in problem‑solving and learning design practices

Willingness to learn Scrum or agile methodologies for project work

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Autodesk Inventor & Vault

SAP or equivalent ERP system

Basic programming (e.g., Python, Visual Basic)

Design of sheet metal components

Industrial refrigeration / HVAC components and assemblies

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATION

Technical certificate or Associate degree with 1+ year experience (1000 hours working experience in 3D design) or a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field

NATURE & SCOPE The Designer reports directly to the Design Team Lead and collaborates with engineers, designers, and cross‑functional team members to support the launch of NPI programs globally.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Support the design and development of heat rejection equipment using appropriate design tools

Assist with design automation activities to improve efficiency

Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to support product development

Use 3D CAD software to generate parametric models and designs

Participate in design reviews to gather input and improve outcomes

Contribute to a culture of innovation and quality in product design

Document project work and share updates with stakeholders

Define basic design parameters and contribute to achieving project milestones

Apply Scrum methodologies under guidance to support agile design development

Support discussions on new product requirements and design changes

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Travel periodically to BAC manufacturing facilities during prototype or pilot assembly and assist with prototype/pilot build

WORKING CONDITIONS

BAC has flex work policy – 3 days in office and 2 days remote

Working hours are the standard BAC 40 hours per week (8:30 am–5:00 pm with flexible start/finish times allowed)

Travel, both domestic and international, can be up to 10 % of the time

Occasional evening/weekend hours may be required, although often can be done from home with a portable computer

Primarily sedentary activity in the office; occasional travel to BAC manufacturing facilities and R&D lab with assembly (medium work) is required

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform 3d computer modeling

During occasional trips, the worker may experience heat, cold, humidity, and noise

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS BAC Hiring Compensation Range $25.30 – $37.96 per hour
