
Field Superintendent - Rigging

Job Summary:
The Rigging Field Superintendent provides onsite leadership for all Crane & Rigging related construction activities primarily focused on the project’s Single Cycle Gas Turbine Plants, ensuring all work is executed safely, meets technical requirements, and aligns with project schedule and budget objectives. This role directs craft labor and subcontractors, oversees daily field operations, and drives workforce planning, progress reporting, and cost/schedule performance. Working closely with engineering, construction management, and project controls, the Rigging Field Superintendent resolves constructability issues, supports the development of work scopes, and ensures effective use of automation tools and project procedures. The position plays a central role in maintaining quality, enforcing use of current design documents, and ensuring that tools, materials, and equipment are available to support efficient execution. Major Responsibilities:
Coordinates with Superintendents and the Lead Project Rigging Engineer to validate manpower and rigger/heavy haul qualification requirements. Reviews weekly scheduled work plans with discipline superintendents to ensure the project has the rigging/heavy haul resources available with the proper qualifications to support the planned work scopes. Ensures that scheduling concerns and constraints are identified and elevated to the construction management team. Supervises and coordinates daily with direct hire and subcontract representatives on rigging/heavy haul construction activities. Possesses responsibility for the safe execution of rigging/heavy haul activities in accordance with applicable SWPPs and legislative codes/standards. Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8‑10 years of relevant experience or 12‑14 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills:
Preferred previous experience delivering a power plant as Rigging Superintendent Works with Construction Field Engineers, Foremen, and Craft Professionals, in interpreting Engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. Oversees engineering solutions with Subcontractors, and Foremen and Craft Professionals. Coordinates with Design on constructability issues. Oversees the preparation of testing processes and required test equipment. Inspects installed components for technical acceptance. Oversees the development of Commodity Installation means and methods. Implements understanding of industry / International Codes & Standards applicable to work scope. Utilizes and leverages applicable automation software and processes as applicable. Preferable thorough knowledge of Bechtel SWPP’s & CP Regarding Crane & Rigging Competent in supervising Crane & Rigging activities with BEO Required Certifications A strong background in craft management and understanding of the project (Non Union) labor agreement.
