Deck/UX Designer

NOVUS Media LLC, Chicago, IL, United States

We’re looking for a versatile Presentation & Experience Designer to own the visual quality of our pitches, proposals, and client-facing materials. As a media agency without a dedicated creative team, this role is critical in translating strategy and ideas into clear, compelling, and well-designed presentations.

This role is design-forward, not strategy-heavy: you’ll work closely with account, strategy, and leadership teams to shape content into persuasive narratives, polished decks, and simple digital experiences. You’ll also provide light UX design support for client-facing flows, mockups, and wireframes when needed.

This is an ideal role for a designer who enjoys structure, storytelling, and clarity— and wants ownership over presentation quality across the agency.

Primary Responsibilities

Design high-quality pitch decks, proposals, and client presentations from outlines, notes, or rough drafts

Translate complex media, performance, and strategy concepts into clear visual narratives

Create and maintain presentation templates (Google Slides, PowerPoint, Keynote)

Ensure visual consistency, hierarchy, and readability across all materials

Elevate slides with charts, diagrams, timelines, and frameworks (not just “pretty slides”)

Collaborate with leadership on high-stakes new business pitches

Light UX & Experience Design

Create low‑to‑mid‑fidelity wireframes for simple client‑facing experiences (landing pages, dashboards, content hubs)

Improve flow, structure, and usability of presentations and digital concepts

Partner with strategy or media teams to visualize user journeys and touchpoints

Provide basic UX thinking (information architecture, hierarchy, clarity), not full product design

Visual Systems

Help define and evolve the agency’s visual standards in the absence of a formal creative team

Apply client brand guidelines accurately and thoughtfully

Build reusable design components (slide layouts, icons, charts)

Work independently with minimal hand‑holding

Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced agency environment

Take feedback from non‑designers and translate it into effective design solutions

Requirements

3–6 years of experience in presentation design, graphic design, or agency design

Strong expertise in Google Slides and/or PowerPoint (essential)

Proficiency in Figma (or similar) for layout and light UX work

Strong understanding of

Visual hierarchy

Typography

Layout and spacing

Storytelling through design

Experience designing for client‑facing or executive audiences

Ability to work from rough content and make it polished and persuasive

Comfortable working without a large creative team or art director
