About this role
The Commercial Loan Officer (CLO) develops new business, broadens existing relationships, underwrites, structures, and closes commercial loans, including those for land, site, construction, C&I, and owner‑occupied transactions, while managing an existing portfolio throughout its lifecycle.
The CLO represents the bank in community affairs, marketing CNOB products, and participating actively in local initiatives.
The CLO maintains the entire portfolio from "Cradle to Grave", ensuring compliance and profitability.
In this role you will
Support CNOB’s "People First" focus by maintaining a professional demeanor and delivering excellent client service.
Source, develop, and underwrite new loans, interim and permanent mortgages, and lines of credit, gathering and analyzing client financial information.
Maximize bank profitability through appropriate pricing, fee income, and cross‑selling bank products and services.
Negotiate terms, structure financing based on risk analysis, and present credits for approval.
Ensure all activities comply with operational, security, and control procedures to prevent fraud and protect customer assets.
Handle client service issues, conduct research, and follow up until resolution.
Review and negotiate all loan documentation for each transaction.
Must haves
Strong people‑first mindset and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of relevant federal and state banking regulations.
Credit training and thorough knowledge of loan transaction procedures and policies.
Familiarity with bank security and safety practices.
Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation.
Minimum five years of C&I lending experience.
Thorough understanding of federal banking compliance and requirements.
Bonus points for
Working knowledge of Google Apps.
Experience with the nCino loan processing platform.
Bachelor’s degree preferred; on‑the‑job experience is acceptable.
Formal bank credit training.
