About the Role

The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission of advancing student-centered decision-making and influence within the public school system. The successful candidate will be a values-driven leader with a radical passion for all kids and student outcomes, and a strategic, adaptive approach to translating that passion into durable, evidence-based strategies. This role requires a high-EQ communicator and coalition builder, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, from parents to city leaders, and a systems thinker with a deep understanding of how policy, politics, and organizing interact to effect change. The Executive Director will be the chief fundraiser, leading efforts to meet financial goals across the organization's various entities, and will be expected to have a strong appetite for the unique political environment of the city.

Key responsibilities for the Executive Director include strategic leadership, external relations, advocacy, fundraising, board management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in senior leadership, a systems-change orientation, and experience or a strong appetite for fundraising. Highly valued qualifications include experience as a public school parent, an education policy background, existing relationships within the community, and experience with the complexities of 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and PAC structures. The role is pivotal in the organization's transition from a startup to a resilient institution, and the Executive Director will be expected to steward the brand, adapt messaging to the social and political landscape, and ensure the organization's reputation and relevance are maintained and enhanced.
