Job Overview
Cooper Electric Supply, LLC is looking for a contract manager to administer contracts from inception to execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal alignment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Administer contracts from inception to execution, meeting deadlines and statutory expirations, ensuring specification of agreeable terms and conditions.
Ensure contracts are created and subsequent activities comply with organizational policies and procedures.
Review proposed customer and vendor contracts, highlighting/redlining unacceptable risks and raising relevant business risks for internal alignment with business owners.
Review real estate leases and provide suggested revisions or negotiate terms related to price, financial contingencies, and repairs.
Organize and maintain a database of executed contracts.
Assist in drafting contract abstracts for common use by sales and procurement staff.
Coordinate with Sonepar legal to aid negotiation of terms & conditions with customers and vendors.
Communicate with Finance to edit contracts within established guidelines.
Perform most work independently with minimal direct supervision and refer more complex issues to the VP of Finance with possible solutions.
Collaborate with sales teams to identify key metrics and business requirements within contracts and support clarification of measurements aligned to business objectives.
Essential Qualifications
Ability to handle a high volume of very detailed work, including review of contract terms and conditions and comparing multiple documents.
Highly organized and focused on workflow.
Able to understand and analyze legal and business concepts included in contract documents.
Capable of working under deadline pressures.
Ability to understand and adhere to processes for reviewing, commenting, communicating, and assessing contractual terms.
Ability to create contract abstracts from terms and conditions.
Must exercise initiative to work productively with general supervision and direction.
Proven ability to positively influence peers and leaders, and take ownership over challenges to drive solutions and deliver results.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High degree of organizational, computer, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with IronClad document management system.
Proven track record with contract review or legal concepts (contract specialist, legal assistant, or paralegal).
Knowledge of commercial insurance coverages.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of job‑relevant experience required.
Hours, Location, & Compensation Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Location: Cranbury, NJ – Hybrid schedule with minimum 3 days in office. Pay: $80‑95k + bonus, based on experience.
