The Company is in search of an Executive Director for its New York region, which is the largest in the organizational portfolio. The successful candidate will be a dynamic and strategic leader, responsible for setting the vision and conditions for regional success and expanding the organization's impact in the areas of literacy, equity, and community. This role involves spearheading partnerships with public schools and other strategic allies, as well as leading the growth and expansion of the organization's programs. The Executive Director will be the primary face of the organization in the region, with full fiscal responsibility, and must be an effective fundraiser, external representative, and operations leader. A deep commitment to educational equity, experience in leading diverse teams, and a proven track record in fundraising and programmatic success are essential.
Candidates for the Executive Director position should have over 5 years' senior-level leadership experience, with a strong background in the nonprofit, educational, or philanthropic sectors. The role requires the ability to build authentic relationships, engage diverse audiences, and communicate organizational goals effectively. The ideal candidate will have a history of success in fundraising, staff management, and program implementation, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, adaptive environment. The Executive Director will be expected to lead a large team, including AmeriCorps members, and must be prepared for a hybrid work model that includes travel and may involve evening and weekend events.
