Pay Range Target Pay Range for this position is $26.35-$32.12 hourly. Full Pay Range is $21.65-$38.03 hourly. Compensation decisions are based on relevant job‑related skills, experience, education or training. Incentives for performance are available and vary by role.

Impact you’ll make You play a pivotal role in protecting and optimizing BECU’s collateral assets while supporting a seamless member experience. In this role, you ensure repossessed vehicles are handled with care, accuracy, and efficiency—from title management to resale—so BECU can continue to uphold trust, compliance, and operational excellence. Your attention to detail, collaboration with internal and external partners, and commitment to doing things right directly supports BECU’s mission to improve the financial well‑being of our members and communities.

Note: This role will either be onsite on a hybrid schedule at Tukwila, WA or remote Oregon.

What you’ll do

Collateral Protection & Insurance Oversight:

Manage the CPI program, responding to questions, resolving issues, and ensuring policies, claims, and calculations are administered accurately and efficiently.

Vehicle Title Management:

Track, process, correct, reissue, transfer, and release vehicle titles—ensuring proper lien perfection and compliance with state requirements, including preparation of online paperless titles through the Department of Licensing.

Repossession & Vendor Coordination:

Build and maintain strong working relationships with repossession agencies, transportation providers, attorneys, and repair vendors to ensure quality service and timely resolution.

Asset Recovery & Vehicle Disposition:

Coordinate repairs, transportation, inventory tracking, and the preparation and sale of repossessed vehicles—whether through internal channels or external auctions—following assets through final disposition.

Financial & System Accuracy:

Update internal systems (DNA/Framework), post checks and fees, review sold files for Dealer Billbacks (MBI, GAP, LAH), and follow up to ensure accurate payment processing.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare statistical and financial reports, gather insurance claim data related to repossessions, and support monthly financial reporting needs.

Compliance & Risk Awareness:

Maintain strong working knowledge of state and federal laws related to collections, as well as BECU policies and procedures that impact the Collateral Management department.

Audit & Examination Support:

Partner with state and federal examiners and auditors during routine credit union examinations and audits, ensuring transparency and compliance.

Continuous Support:

Take on additional responsibilities as needed to help the team succeed in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Minimum two years’ experience in the automotive industry, auction or auto repossession.

Current valid Washington State driver’s license.

Full‑time hours, with additional hours as necessary.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with auto sales through auctions or dealer experience is preferred.

ICA‑certified ACE, or above, is preferred.

Previous experience within BECU or another financial institution is preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams 360, PowerPoint) is preferred.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

Proficient interpersonal skills to present a professional image when dealing with members and co‑workers.

Effective collection skills, in accordance with Credit Union policies and procedures.

Ability to perform responsibilities with a high degree of accuracy.

Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission is preferred.
