Technical Writer – Associate I (Production Support)
About the Role
UST is searching for a Technical Writer who can work cross‑functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
Prepare and review English source documentation for translation
Review translated documents for accuracy, formatting, terminology, and adherence to standards
Maintain and update technical documentation using structured authoring tools
Ensure documents comply with style guidelines, version‑control practices, and publishing workflows
Manage documentation projects and approvals using electronic workflows
Support continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools
Program management of technical writing projects, including planning, scheduling, resource estimation, milestones, risk mitigation, and validation
Report on document quality metrics and collaborate with management to assess operational effectiveness and quality standards
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in English, Engineering, Science, or a related field
1–3 years of experience in technical documentation or content‑related work
Semiconductor industry experience preferred
Excellent English verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Familiarity with the following tools:
MS Office Suite
DITA XML authoring tools (e.g., Oxygen Editor)
Content Management Systems (e.g., Tridion Docs, SharePoint)
Adobe Acrobat
Atlassian JIRA
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Self‑motivated, proactive, and collaborative; able to learn quickly and work with minimal supervision in a fast‑paced, high‑tech environment
Compensation and Location
Location: California
Compensation Range: $48,000 – $72,000
Benefits
Full‑time, regular employees accrue a minimum of 10 days of paid vacation per year, receive 6 days of paid sick leave each year (pro‑rated for new hires throughout the year), 10 paid holidays, and are eligible for paid bereavement leave and jury duty. They are eligible to participate in the Company's 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching.
