Responsibilities
Substation Design & Drafting : develop electric substation drawings, including General Arrangements, Elevations, Conduit Plans/Details, Grounding Plans/Details, Foundation Plans, Lightning Protection plans, and control building layouts. Work closely with the Civil Engineering department to develop substation foundation and structure detail drawings.
Engineering Analysis & Calculations : perform substation design calculations for lightning protection, voltage drop, and conduit fill.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance : work closely with peers to ensure accurate and on‑time delivery of electrical design that meets client and industry standards, specifications, and good engineering practices.
Field Support : provide on‑site technical support for select ENERCON clients during construction and commissioning as required.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation design, with a primary focus on executing physical design projects.
Familiarity with relay protection schemes.
Experience with MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Willingness to enter energized electric substations with proper training and PPE.
Self‑driven time management to meet deadlines and provide accurate deliverables; ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency with typical office software including Microsoft Windows and the Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel for client site visits and project meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in the electric utility industry, preferably in a fast‑paced consulting environment.
Experience with 500kV substation design.
Pay Range USD $65,600.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
