Job Overview
We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Product & Packaging Designer to develop visually compelling consumer products for major retail accounts including Walmart, TJX, and Ross.
This role focuses on designing the look and feel of physical hard goods products—including color, finish, branding, and packaging—while also creating buyer‑ready presentations and mockups.
The ideal candidate understands how to take a basic factory item and elevate it into a retail‑ready product that stands out on shelf.
Key Responsibilities
Product Design (Non-3D / Aesthetic Focus)
Apply colors, materials, and finishes to hard goods products (plastic, metal, etc.)
Develop on‑trend, retail‑driven product concepts
Create clean, realistic 2D product mockups using Photoshop/Illustrator
Ensure designs align with brand identity and target retailers
Packaging Design
Design boxes, hang tags, belly bands, and inserts
Create and edit dielines from scratch
Prepare print‑ready files for overseas factories
Ensure packaging meets retail compliance and visual standards
Presentations & Sales Support
Build professional buyer presentations (PowerPoint / Keynote)
Create product line sheets and concept boards
Visually communicate product collections for retail pitches
Factory Coordination
Work directly with overseas factories (China) to execute designs
Review samples, provide feedback, and resolve design issues
Ensure accuracy from concept → production
Qualifications
3+ years experience in consumer product design (hard goods preferred)
Strong portfolio showing:
Product mockups (not just logos or social media)
Packaging design
Retail or buyer‑facing presentations
Proficient in:
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
PowerPoint or Keynote
Experience creating dielines and print‑ready packaging files
Strong understanding of retail trends (Walmart, Target, TJX, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
⭐ Bonus Skills (Huge Plus)
Experience working with overseas factories
Understanding of materials (plastic, silicone, metal finishes)
Light knowledge of 3D is helpful but NOT required
Experience in pet, kitchen, baby, or home categories
