Job Purpose The Bartender is responsible for creating memorable experiences by crafting beverages for guests at the bar or through the wait staff. The Bartender mixes, garnishes, and serves alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks according to company specifications and assists with ordering menu items. Bartenders are passionate about delivering exceptional service, and always aware of their surroundings to ensure members and guests are drinking responsibly.
Responsibilities
Verify identification and age requirements of guest and members
Mix traditional and creative cocktails
Process payments
Clean glasses and bar utensils
Provide food and beverage suggestions based on guest or member tastes and preferences
Open and maintain tabs throughout the shift
Qualifications
Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages; applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law
Knowledge of ingredients for various mixed drinks, knowledge of food, wine, and service etiquette
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, perform multiple tasks and prioritize while exercising patience
Experience handling cash and credit card transactions
Basic math skills. Able to use a calculator and cash register or point‑of‑sale system
Ability to use the following equipment: blender, coffee maker, sharp knives, ice machine, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc.
High school diploma required (specialty/technical training preferred) and 1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
T.A.B.C. Certification required
Working Conditions
Schedule varies based on business needs and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Regular movement throughout the venue is required, including time spent at the host stand, bar, dining areas, and service stations.
Extended periods of standing and walking are common during shifts.
Duties may include reaching, bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 30–50 pounds (such as trays, racks, boxes, or bar supplies).
May occasionally assist with resetting tables, moving furniture, or supporting team needs during peak service.
Vision requirements may include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment may involve exposure to loud noise levels, cleaning products, hot or cold food and beverage items, and fast‑paced conditions.
