Job Summary The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the hotel’s 143 guest rooms, public areas, laundry. This role leads housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring a refined luxury experience that aligns with the hotel’s brand standards while managing labor, supplies, and operational efficiency.
Physical Abilities
Standing for a minimum of 5 consecutive hours
Walking for a minimum of 5 consecutive hours
Crouching (Bend at knees)
Stooping (Bend at waist)
Twisting (knees, waist, and neck)
Balancing
Reaching (overhead extension)
Handling and grasping
Dexterity/feeling
Pushing/pulling
Lifting/carrying a maximum of 50 lbs.
Working Environment
Indoor and outdoor environments
Near large machinery and equipment (washers, dryers, extractor, etc..)
Exposure to chemicals
Directly with small appliances (Nespresso Machine, Steamer, Hair Dryer, Safe, Television)
Will work near alcoholic beverages
Duties & Responsibilities
Display exceptional knowledge of guest room types and differences
Prepare schedule for room attendants, lobby attendants, housemen, and laundry.
Schedules to be published by 5pm the prior Thursday
Daily monitoring of room attendant productivity
Daily monitoring of laundry weight loads and laundry productivity
Manage out of order and out of service rooms
Ensure guest rooms are cleaned per the specified standards
Maintain updated SDS binder and establish continuous training
Train employees on cleaning policies and procedures
Manage weekly and monthly projects
Manage quarterly deep clean program
Perform monthly integrity check
Achieve over a 90 on all mystery shops
Plan and host monthly department Bravo meeting
Attend daily standup meeting and provide updates for team
Attend weekly staff meeting. Provide department updates and schedule projects based on resumes
Schedule weekly projects for room attendants, lobby attendants, and housemen
Manage laundry reclaim with goal to exceed 90% capture
Continuously update and revise SOPs based on needs
Ensure housekeeping team adheres to core standards
Conduct pre-shift meeting according standard
Communicate all special events, VIP guests,
Have comprehensive knowledge of hotel systems such as Alice, Stay N Touch, and Profit Sword
Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
