Marketing Graphic Designer II

Overview To produce marketing content in a digital media environment in support of corporate communication strategies and enhance online offerings. May be assigned to small projects or to phases of larger projects; assists with system-wide complex projects. Responsible for solving technical problems. Functions as liaison with clients in developing, integrating and implementing projects. Troubleshoots moderately complex day‑to‑day problems and recommends solutions. Assists with training level‑I designers. Assist in leading complex/difficult tasks with moderate latitude and considerable impact.

Responsibilities

Design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special effects elements.

Serve as a resource to staff and clients in developing user‑friendly formats and producing documents in HTML and other applications.

Create Web graphics, logos and illustrations to support marketing efforts.

Design day‑to‑day communications and corporate‑wide promotional materials.

Implement Web‑based/interactive media strategies.

Maintain knowledge of graphic design trends and best practices through professional associations, conferences, and seminars.

Administer and update corporate digital media systems.

Monitor Web pages and other electronic media, to identify and correct technical and grammatical problems.

Monitor ongoing digital media communication projects to assure timeliness of delivery; provide project status updates to clients and supervisor.

Track and measure member usage of the corporate website to identify trends and recommend ways to enhance the site's effectiveness; prepare reports.

Recommend changes to website to improve system functionality and enhance its effectiveness; update content of electronic media.

Evaluate information on the use of Web/Internet applications/technologies and marketing trends; determine feasibility of applications/technologies and make recommendations.

Participate in strategic/conceptual development meetings with clients and supervisor to determine project requirements and objectives.

Assist with analysis and development of new and innovative ways to improve member service using website and other forms of electronic media to enhance marketing communications.

Maintain log of assignments and provide statistical data to supervisor.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

Experience designing and maintaining a corporate website.

Working knowledge of marketing communication principles in designing Web pages.

Working knowledge of PC and Internet/Web‑based technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP, Lotus Notes, web content management software, editing and authoring tools and development languages.

Ability to create interactive media that adheres to overall user‑experience goals.

Ability to act independently while exercising initiative and judgment and to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Ability to train, guide, and mentor others.

Ability to compile, organize and present information clearly and concisely.

Ability to think conceptually and visualize strategic decisions.

Ability to give and receive constructive feedback, and push designs to next level.

Experience in working and participating in cross‑functional, multi‑dimensional teams and projects.

Effective skill in PC and Internet/Web‑based technologies such as HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP, Lotus Notes, web content management software, editing and authoring tools and development languages.

Effective skill in creating interaction designs that have strong application to members through visual design and interaction behavior using HTML, scripting languages and related software applications.

Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions.

Effective skill exercising professionalism, composure under pressure, and flexibility.

Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Effective research, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Bachelor's degree in graphic design, computer science/information systems, visual communications, interactive media involving design or development of computer programs/applications, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Desired Qualifications

Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies and procedures.
