The Food Bank of Northern Indiana works collaboratively with the community to combat hunger through feeding programs, awareness initiatives, and hunger‑relief strategies. Serving six counties in northern Indiana—Elkhart, Kosciusko, LaPorte, Marshall, Starke, and St. Joseph—the organization aims to address food insecurity and create lasting solutions. Role Description The Development Director will lead strategic initiatives for fundraising and resource development, including planning and implementing programs for annual giving, planned giving, and philanthropy campaigns. This full‑time, on‑site role is based in South Bend, IN, and involves creating and managing budgets, fostering relationships with donors, and identifying new opportunities for financial growth and sustainability. The Development Director will play a key role in enhancing community partnerships and ensuring the Food Bank's mission is supported through effective donor engagement.
Qualifications
Experience in Planned Giving and Annual Giving strategies
Proficiency in Fundraising and Philanthropy, with a demonstrated history of donor engagement
Strong skills in Budgeting and financial management
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship‑building abilities
Knowledge of nonprofit operations and fundraising best practices
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Business, Communications, or a related discipline)
Familiarity with CRM tools and donor management systems is a plus
Minimum three (3) years of demonstrated fund development experience with a proven record of achieving fund development goals through corporate and major gift cultivation and stewardship.
