Freelance Content Writer – On‑Site Event Coverage
We are seeking an experienced freelance content writer based in or near Las Vegas to provide fast-turnaround, on-site coverage of InfoComm 2026, the largest professional AV trade show in North America. This role is ideal for a journalist who thrives in a live-event environment, can identify newsworthy moments as they happen, and is comfortable covering technical topics for an engaged professional audience. The writer must be available on-site at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the full duration of the event, June 16–19, 2026. Remote coverage is not an option for this assignment. If the engagement is a strong fit and availability allows, this assignment may extend beyond InfoComm into ongoing remote freelance work. Responsibilities
Report and write timely, accurate articles during InfoComm 2026 with quick turnaround Cover a mix of assigned stories, exhibitor and attendee interviews, session wrap‑ups, independent “on‑the‑floor” reporting on newsworthy announcements and trends Conduct interviews with industry professionals, manufacturers, and thought leaders File clean, publication-ready copy that meets editorial standards and deadlines Collaborate with editors remotely while working autonomously on‑site Required Qualifications
Journalism background or equivalent professional writing experience Proven experience covering live events, conferences, or trade shows Ability to understand, synthesize, and clearly explain technical topics Strong news judgment and storytelling skills Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment Reliable on‑site availability for all four event days Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
Prior experience covering the AV, technology, or related industries Familiarity with InfoComm or large‑scale B2B trade shows Existing relationships within the AV or pro technology space Compensation & Logistics
Compensation ranges from $150–$250 per article, based on story scope, reporting depth, and complexity Lunch provided or reimbursed during show days Travel and parking expenses within Las Vegas covered Writer must supply their own laptop and recording equipment If writer is available prior to June, relevant work can start immediately How to Apply
