Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator ACM is seeking a strategic, self-directed communicator to join our close-knit team as Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator, reporting to the Executive Director. This full-time position is responsible for raising the museum's public profile, growing and diversifying its audiences, and deepening ACM's relationships with the communities it serves.
This role manages all aspects of the museum's marketing, communications, and community engagement — from digital strategy and media relations to partnership development and event promotion. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable drafting a press release, analyzing campaign performance, and representing the museum at a community meeting.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan to grow museum attendance, memberships, and program participation.
Manage all digital channels, including the museum's website, email marketing, and social media presence. Track and analyze audience data to inform strategy and report on outcomes.
Serve as the museum's primary community liaison, cultivating relationships with local businesses, civic organizations, schools, tourism boards, and cultural partners across the South Shore and greater Boston area.
Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, and building relationships with regional media outlets and arts journalists.
Produce engaging written and visual content across all platforms. Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity that reflects ACM's unique character. Coordinate with freelance designers, photographers, and videographers as needed.
Lead marketing and promotional campaigns for exhibitions, public programs, fundraising events, and special initiatives. Collaborate closely with museum staff to ensure cohesive messaging and maximum visibility.
Plan, allocate, and manage the museum's annual advertising budget across digital and traditional channels. Monitor campaign performance, optimize spend, and report on return on investment.
Skills and Qualifications
Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
Demonstrated experience managing digital marketing channels, including social media, email marketing platforms, and website content management systems.
Experience managing advertising budgets and analyzing campaign performance data.
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience building community partnerships.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently as a self-starter.
Familiarity with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) and comfort coordinating with freelance creatives.
Solid experience and comfort with technology, including working knowledge of Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Calendar) and Microsoft Office.
Positive, detail-oriented, and adaptable with a genuine enthusiasm for the arts.
Experience with media relations is a plus.
Familiarity with the South Shore and greater Boston cultural landscape is a plus.
Requirements
BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university; concentration in Marketing, Communications, Arts Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, preferably in a nonprofit, arts, or cultural organization.
Schedule This is a full-time, salaried position. The regular schedule is Monday–Friday, with occasional evening and weekend hours required for museum events, programs, and openings. Flexibility to meet the changing needs of the museum is essential.
Compensation Salary: $55,000–$65,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Total compensation, including benefits, ranges from approximately $73,000 to $85,000.
