We’re seeking a
Director, Resident Care
to oversee all clinical operations in our Assisted Living community. In this role, you’ll manage resident care, supervise care staff, coordinate with medical professionals and families, and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards. You’ll foster a homelike environment, promote resident independence, and lead a team that delivers exceptional care. What You’ll Do
Evaluate residents prior to move-in or upon change in condition and coordinate with leadership for approval Communicate with residents, families, and staff to meet resident needs; participate in care conferences Hire, train, supervise, and coach Care Partner and activity staff; manage performance and ensure compliance with annual training requirements Create staff schedules and verify timecards to ensure coverage aligns with resident needs and budget Monitor medication administration, conduct audits, and assist in managing medication inventory and compliance Observe and report resident health concerns and significant incidents to leadership promptly Perform ongoing assessments of residents’ physical and psychosocial needs and coordinate care plans with nursing staff Organize service plan reviews with care teams and families Respond promptly to resident emergencies, including those in independent living sections Conduct safety and infection control checks of the home and grounds Schedule and coordinate in-house medical services such as doctor visits, lab work, and specialist appointments Maintain resident records, including documentation review and MAR audits Provide guidance to staff regarding activity programs and resident engagement Manage inventory and budget oversight for the care department Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal rules, including HIPAA, OSHA, and Bloodborne Pathogen Guidelines Promote safe work practices and support other employees in maintaining safety standards Foster teamwork, show initiative, and positively impact coworkers, residents, and visitors Perform other duties as assigned What We’re Looking For
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred in a related field Proven management experience with staff supervision Minimum three years’ experience in assisted living preferred Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and remain calm under pressure Pleasant, professional, and personable demeanor Join Milestone to lead a team that provides exceptional resident care and promotes a welcoming, supportive community every day.
