Posting Summary The Singson laboratory at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology is seeking a postdoctoral associate to participate in our studies of reproductive biology in the C. elegans model system. Specifically, the candidate will contribute to our fertilization synapse, sperm activation, and sperm mitochondria dynamics projects. Experience with C. elegans genetics, reproduction, and cell biology are required. Further, experience with protein‑protein interaction methods like the split ubiquitin yeast‑two‑hybrid method and SIM microscopy training will be needed. The individual will report directly to the laboratory Principal Investigator (PI).
The position requires the ability to design and carry out experiments with the C. elegans model system as well as other experimental systems in the lab such as yeast two‑hybrid protein‑protein interaction methods. The candidate should be able to work unsupervised day‑to‑day, but in consultation with the primary investigator for long‑term goals of the research. The candidate should also be able to professionally communicate and justify experimental approaches and results in both oral and written form. Manuscripts for publication will be corresponded by the candidate.
