Prime Finance has reached an inflection point in its growth trajectory which presents an immediate opportunity to accelerate that growth through further expansion of existing and new credit strategies as well as extensive investment in internal processes, systems, and resources.

Job Summary Join one of Prime Finance’s five origination teams, based in Chicago. Help team source and close bridge real estate investment opportunities across property types including multifamily, office, retail, industrial, and hospitality. Responsible for creating initial deal sizings, including reviewing materials from brokers, conducting market research, and speaking with market participants when appropriate. Assist with managing the signed deal process through closing, including reviewing due diligence, completing the underwriting model, writing the investment memo, and touring the property.

Essential Functions

Build initial property cash flow models to assess financing requests

Determine which information provided by counterparty should be included and/or adjusted in the model including rent rolls, historical operating statements, and proforma cash flows

Prepare internal deal profile and effectively present the asset history, business plan, strengths, risks and mitigants of each deal to leadership team

Organize and track due diligence materials during the closing process

Review and assess due diligence for signed deals, ensuring information provided is sufficient and raise any potential identified risks to team leaders

Engage, review, and assist with finalizing third party reports, determining which third party provider to use, as well as whether the third party reports are accurate and complete

Conduct Market Research

Review multiple sources (CoStar, REIS, Trepp) to determine market and property type health, interview market participants, and perform firsthand rent surveys

Travel to properties, tour markets, understand competitive landscapes

Write Investment Memos, effectively demonstrating and summarizing the details of a signed deal in writing, and present to Investment Committee

Leverage AI-powered tools and platforms to streamline data analysis and day-to-day responsibilities, improving speed and accuracy across deal execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, real estate, or related field preferred

Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in real estate finance or real estate lending with strong preference for candidates who demonstrate prior deal closing experience

Experience with commercial real estate valuation, credit underwriting, and market analysis

Exceptional financial modeling skills in Excel and proficiency in Argus

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with multiple property types including multifamily, office, industrial, and hospitality

Ability to work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously and proactively execute responsibilities without direct oversight

Problem-solving attitude and motivated team player

The expected salary for this role is $115,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined by several components, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills and qualifications, base salary of internal peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus and a variety of financial, wellbeing, and health / welfare benefits.
