
Investor Education and Protection Coordinator

Job Summary
This position is in the Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB), Marketing Operations, Securities Bureau. The mission of DISB is to protect the interests of District of Columbia consumers from unfair and abusive practices while providing an equitable business arena for regulated entities operating in Washington, D.C.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify the specific needs of the public regarding investor education and consumer protection, creating and delivering programs for all demographics to reduce instances of financial fraud.
Provide leadership and guidance in the development and implementation of investor education programs to fulfill the mandate of the Securities Division.
Create and deliver educational programs to increase awareness of agency’s consumer education resources and help consumers make informed investment decisions.
Develop and distribute engaging content, including press releases, social media posts, and website copy.
Implement communication strategies through all media types to promote investor confidence, provide understandable investing information, and increase public awareness of securities laws.
Licenses and Certifications None
Qualifications and Education Specialized experience. One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the normal line of progression is required.
Working Conditions/Environment Primarily sedentary with occasional standing, bending, stooping, and carrying of light items.
