Responsibilities
Use 2D and 3D software to assist the Design Team in the development of designs and drafting construction documents in support of clients' building program
Independently tackle challenges on projects with support of Design Team Lead
Evaluate client requirements, building code, and zoning regulations to develop design recommendations
Provide technical design planning and coordination in a collaborative and multi-disciplined environment
Produce construction documents and coordinate with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary approvals
Assist with construction administration tasks under supervision of Design Team Lead
Duties
Mentor, direct, and supervise team members
Produce accurate construction documents with minimal supervision by reviewing own work
Develop specifications writing and compiling skills
Conduct building code analysis and research regulatory requirements to determine design constraints
Communicate and present design options and alternates to clients
Work with municipalities to secure entitlements and building permits
Respond to contractor requests for information
Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent
Maintain compliance with milestones established by Design Team Leads
Monitor performance of design team consultants
Perform quality control review of team members' work product
Produce accurate construction documents detailing the client's vision and goals
Document and analyze existing building conditions to produce as‑built documents and reports (travel required)
Develop design options and alternates
Coordinate building components and systems with other disciplines to develop construction documents based on client requirements
Perform quality control of their own work prior to giving to the Architect of Record for signing and sealing
Possibly have direct contact with client on a regular basis
Qualifications
Management Requirements: 0–4 staff
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related field; Architectural Studies degree preferred
Licensure Requirements: None required
