Job title: Business Development Representative
Work Location: In-Person / Field-Based (Territory Travel Required)
Duties:
The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving admissions and revenue growth by building and maintaining relationships with referral partners across an assigned territory. This role focuses on generating new business opportunities while supporting existing partnerships to facilitate admissions into company programs. The BDR manages the full referral lifecyclefrom outreach to admissionwhile collaborating closely with admissions and clinical teams to ensure continuity of care.
Build, develop, and maintain relationships with referral partners including hospitals, discharge planners, therapists, physicians, case managers, and community organizations
Actively prospect and generate new referral sources while maintaining consistent engagement with existing partners
Maintain a structured territory plan balancing new business development and account management
Conduct in-person visits, outreach calls, and presentations to promote services and increase referral activity
Manage all client and referral communication through CRM systems, ensuring timely and accurate follow-up
Convert inquiries into admissions by guiding clients and families through the admissions process
Collaborate with admissions and clinical teams to ensure seamless transitions of care
Assist with discharge planning by identifying and coordinating appropriate levels of care or transfer facilities
Maintain accurate records of weekly activity, referrals, and pipeline reporting
Attend community events, networking functions, and professional meetings to represent the organization
Adhere to company expense guidelines and submit reports in a timely manner
Travel within assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel
Preform other duties as assigned by leadership
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements/Certifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business development, marketing, or behavioral healthcare
14+ years of experience in healthcare marketing, business development, or addiction treatment preferred
Must have a valid and in good standing Drivers License and own vehicle
Knowledge of substance abuse, behavioral health, and levels of care preferred
Understanding of insurance and payer types (commercial, private, VA) is a plus
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Highly organized with the ability to multitask and work independently
Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
