Immersive Tour Guide
MeshMap Labs, Inc., New York, NY, United States
GLO is reimagining sightseeing for the age of immersive tech. We create interactive gaming tours that transform real city streets into playful, story‑rich experiences using cutting‑edge augmented reality (AR) technology. Our tours are social, creative, and designed to make people feel like they’ve stepped inside the city rather than just walked through it. We’re building something new at the intersection of entertainment, culture, and technology, and we’re looking for tour operators who want to help define what immersive tourism can be.
The Position As an Immersive Tour Guide, you are the face of the experience. You’ll lead small groups through AR‑powered tours; onboard participants with AR headsets, guide gameplay, and ensure every participant feels confident, engaged, and excited from start to finish. This is part tour guide, part game master, part event host. You’re not reciting scripts, you’re facilitating memorable moments.
Job Description
Lead groups of up to 8 participants through 45–60 minute immersive AR tours
Welcome guests, check them in, and set the tone for an energetic and interactive experience
Onboard participants with AR headsets and explain gameplay mechanics clearly and confidently
Actively guide participants through interactions, challenges, and mini‑games
Keep groups moving smoothly through designated outdoor public spaces
Troubleshoot device, connectivity, gameplay and other basic tech issues in real time
Maintain a fun, safe, and engaging environment for all participants
Assist with AR headset care, setup, and breakdown before and after tours
Represent GLO professionally in public‑facing, high‑visibility environments
Requirements
Strong people skills; comfortable talking to groups of strangers
Confident, clear communicator with a friendly and upbeat delivery style
Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet for extended periods
Reliable, punctual, and detail‑oriented
Able to follow structured experiences while adapting to real‑world conditions
Available evenings and weekends
Interest in games, immersive experiences, technology, or live events
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Currently have (or willing to obtain with company support) a sightseeing license from NYC DCWP
Preferred Experience
Previous experience as a tour guide, performer, or event host
Familiarity with AR, VR, or other interactive tech
Passion for cities, street culture, art, or creative play
Startup or early‑stage company experience
Why This Role Matters You’re not just guiding a tour, you’re helping invent a new category of immersive entertainment. If you like engaging people, working with emerging tech, and being part of something that feels fresh and experimental, this role will fit you well.
