Location: Princeton, IN
Pay Rate: $30-32/hour, depending on experience
Contract Type: 1 Year
Schedule: Monday through Friday, some Weekends
Responsibilities
Utilize fluency in Japanese and English to provide clear oral and written communication across cultures for Japanese staff-related functions and business travelers from Japan.
Reproduce statements in another language for unique listening or reading audiences, facilitating effective communication between parties that do not speak a similar language.
Attend conferences and meetings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.
Accurately explain policies, laws, regulations, and procedures of corporate, government, health and medical, housing, social, and educational agencies, including passports and visas, medical billing, insurance, HR orientations, and tax return support.
Relay concepts and ideas between languages.
Report to the Language Services Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
Ability to clearly communicate and relay ideas across Japanese and US cultures in verbal and written capacities.
Fluency in Japanese and English, both oral and written.
Proficiency in digital communication tools: email, chat, text/messaging.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Capability to work independently.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management skills.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF editing.
Valid driver’s license or alternate means of local travel.
Ability to stand for extended periods or remain in a stationary position at workstation.
Professional demeanor and presentation.
Computer proficiency and experience with various systems for data entry and processing information.
Fluency in Japanese and English languages.
