Kent is looking for Electrical / Instrumentation & Controls Designer – Interns to be based in Deer Park, Texas.
Responsibilities
Prepare related package deliverables, including engineering deliverables CAD drawings, instrument spec sheets, IO lists (etc.) in consultation with a supervisor.
Coordinate with supervisors or team members to research information, finalize drafting packages, prepare/update spreadsheets (etc.).
Ensure compliance with project and company procedures.
Support design assignments as needed, including verifying/update of records.
Keep supervisor informed of work progress and challenges.
Participate in safety meetings, client presentations and / or other meetings as needed.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.
Knowledge / Qualification / Training / Certification
Working knowledge of Design & Drafting technology. Proficient in AutoCAD and the Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, etc.)
Must be a current enrolled student in a credited college/ technical college.
Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment.
Capable of working as an In-plant “resident” designer on location.
Good communication skills working as a team.
Communication
Excellent oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal/rapport building skills necessary to work effectively as a team member, and to plan/coordinate processes for results.
