Job Title: Admissions Recruitment Specialist
Classification: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Admissions
Salary Range: $45,000 - $48,000 annually

Position Purpose The Admissions Recruitment Specialist is responsible for driving early-funnel engagement by guiding prospective students from initial inquiry through application completion and file readiness for admission review. This role serves as the primary point of contact for prospective students in the early stages of the admissions process and is responsible for maintaining consistent communication, building relationships, and ensuring forward momentum toward application completion. In addition, this role manages and develops student recruiters, supports campus visit engagement, and represents the university through travel and external recruitment efforts. The Admissions Recruitment Specialist plays a critical role in increasing application volume, improving file completion rates, and strengthening the overall admissions pipeline.
Key Responsibilities Early Funnel Engagement & Outreach
Oversee outreach to prospective students in the inquiry stage through supervision of student recruiters.
Ensure consistent communication with prospective students via phone, text, and email to drive engagement and interest.
Monitor and improve conversion from inquiry to application start.
Application Completion & File Progression
Personally manage outreach to students with:
Started applications (to drive submission)
Submitted applications (to drive transcript submission and file completion)
Maintain consistent follow-up cadence to ensure students complete required application steps.
Communicate urgency and next steps clearly to prospective students.
Track and report on application progression and file completion metrics.
Admissions Appointments & Student Engagement
Schedule and conduct admissions appointments with prospective students and families.
Provide guidance on the admissions process, next steps, and general university information.
Build early relationships with prospective students to support their transition through the admissions funnel.
Student Recruiter Management
Supervise, train, and support student recruiters responsible for inquiry outreach.
Assign outreach lists and monitor daily/weekly activity.
Ensure quality control of student recruiter communication and professionalism.
Provide ongoing coaching and accountability to student recruiters.
Travel & External Recruitment
Represent the university at recruitment events including:
High school visits
College fairs
Church events
Youth conferences and camps
Engage prospective students and families to generate interest and inquiries.
Ensure timely follow-up with all event-generated leads.
Collaboration & Handoff to Admissions Counselors
Ensure smooth transition of students from application completion to admissions counselors.
Coordinate handoff once students are file-complete and ready for admission review.
Provide clear notes and context in the CRM to support counselor follow-up.
CRM & Reporting
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all student interactions in the CRM.
Track outreach activity, engagement levels, and application progression.
Provide regular updates to the Director of Admissions on funnel performance and trends.
Job Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Valid Driver’s License required
Travel required
1–3 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, sales, or a student-facing role
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, especially over the phone
Ability to manage high-volume outreach while maintaining a personal approach
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and take initiative
