How you’ll make an impact:

As the Senior Systems Engineer, you will join our dynamic Media Content Engineering team and build & manage systems that directly impact content creation, distribution, and live broadcast, delivering products and solutions that influence revenue for SiriusXM.

What you’ll do:

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and ensuring the reliable operation of computer systems within the broadcast content environment while adhering to IT Operations SOPs, staff training, and documentation.

  • Server Management
    • Build, configure, and manage Windows Server (2012‑2022) and Linux server environments, including installation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and software integration.
    • Use SCCM to manage domain computer objects, create application packages, and deploy applications and patches across workstations.
    • Perform backup, restore, rollback, and disaster‑recovery operations while maintaining documentation, compliance reporting, and patch schedules.
    • Apply core networking fundamentals—OSI/TCP/IP models, subnetting, NIC configuration, and diagnostics—to ensure stable and secure infrastructure.
    • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve server, application, and infrastructure issues and support administrative tasks such as account setup and storage allocation.
  • Hardware Management
    • Work with Cisco UCS platform including UCS Manager and firmware upgrades.
    • Configure and troubleshoot HP server platform hardware.
  • Active Directory (AD) Administration
    • Oversee the AD domain infrastructure.
    • Manage AD objects, including user accounts and computer objects.
    • Create, modify, and troubleshoot Group Policy objects.
    • Manage DNS records and zones.
    • Handle DHCP management.
  • Patch Management
    • Deploy Microsoft and Linux security patches.
    • Assist in patch deployment to workstations and servers using Ivanti Security Controls.
  • File Servers and Permissions
    • Manage Network File Servers and FTP resources.
    • Administer end‑user accounts and permissions.
  • Virtual Platform
    • Responsible for virtual server infrastructure.
    • Monitor and troubleshoot issues.
    • Collaborate on upgrades.
    • Provide recommendations on features, licensing, high‑availability, identity integration, and risk assessment.
    • Develop and document virtual infrastructure best practices and procedures.
    • Work with application SMEs to build and manage virtual machines.
  • Horizon View Virtual Desktop
    • Design, implement, administer, and support the VDI environment.
    • Monitor VDI performance and optimize efficiency.
    • Document VDI best practices and procedures.
    • Optimize desktop images for workstation performance.
  • Anti‑Virus Management
    • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot endpoint security agents on servers and workstations.
  • User Support
    • Handle Tier 2 trouble tickets via ServiceNow.
    • Troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT systems, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of enterprise experience with Windows and Linux administration.
  • Experience with antivirus deployment; SentinelOne experience is a plus.
  • Experience with vulnerability management; Tenable Nessus experience is a plus.
  • Experience with CMDB; ServiceNow experience is a plus.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms and Docker containers.
  • Experience with Cisco UCS is a plus.
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
  • Highly self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of cross‑expert teams.
  • Eager to keep pace with evolving broadcast and IT technologies.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Strong multitasking and adaptability.
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • General proficiency in media engineering areas.
  • Legal right to work in the U.S.
  • Experience with automation or AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.

This position requires the use of information or hardware subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). As required by ITAR, to perform this position you must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Compensation for this position is expected to be in the range of $106,400 to $145,000, depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Additional short‑term and long‑term incentives may be available.
