
Brand and Content Communications Coordinator (part time/temporary)

Overview
Samuel Merritt University is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time Marketing Coordinator to support digital marketing and communications initiatives. This entry-level role plays an important part in executing the University’s brand and content strategy, with a strong focus on website updates, digital content coordination, and marketing collateral production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, eager to learn, and comfortable managing multiple projects while collaborating with internal stakeholders, designers, and external vendors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Website Content & Digital Projects (Primary Focus): Assist with implementing webpage updates within the University’s CMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and alignment with brand standards.
Support management and updating of faculty profiles.
Coordinate with internal departments and marketing team members to gather content, images, and approvals for web updates.
Help monitor project timelines and track web requests to ensure timely completion.
Marketing & Print Collateral: Assist with the development and production of brochures, flyers, signage, digital graphics, and other marketing materials.
Help track production schedules and review drafts to support brand consistency and quality control.
Coordinate basic vendor logistics, including proofing support and delivery tracking.
Branded Template Initiative (Canva Implementation Project): Support the rollout of a University-wide branded template initiative designed to provide departments with accessible, on-brand marketing materials.
Assist in organizing template needs across departments and tracking requests for new materials.
Coordinate with the design team to help set up, test, and publish Canva templates aligned with brand standards.
Help develop simple guidance resources and support basic training to encourage consistent adoption across campus.
Monitor usage feedback and help identify opportunities to improve template functionality and accessibility.
Digital Asset Management (Canto): Support organization and maintenance of the University’s digital asset management system.
Upload, tag, and categorize marketing assets using established naming conventions and metadata standards.
Assist in maintaining asset libraries to ensure easy access for marketing and campus stakeholders.
Qualifications
1+ years of experience or internship experience in marketing, communications, digital content, or a related field.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in website content management, digital marketing workflows, and brand communications.
Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace required.
Exposure to content management systems (such as Drupal or WordPress) preferred but not required.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Job Shift
Pay Range: $24/hr to $31/hour (non exempt) based on experience.
Samuel Merritt University currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to qualifications, geographic location, and other relevant skills.
