Job Overview This position supports the Property Assessment Division of the Montana Department of Revenue by ensuring that property values in the county are accurately recorded, regularly updated, and certified each year for fair and accurate property tax billings. The role maintains reliable property records, processes ownership and sales information, and assists with taxpayer programs and appeals for taxpayers, county officials, and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and update property records to reflect accurate values and certification.
Process ownership and sales information for property records.
Assist taxpayers, county officials, and stakeholders with record-keeping and appeals.
Perform related duties assigned by management.

Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
Qualifications
One year of post‑secondary education or training.
One year of job‑related experience (e.g., appraisal, assessment, auditing, accounting, banking, data entry, bookkeeping, records management, customer service, or real‑estate related field).
Approval to pass the Department’s CORE Assessment training within the first year of employment.
Other combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.
Valid driver’s license with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent 36 months.
Eligibility to work in the United States (required documentation to be provided within three days of hire).
Telework Eligibility Full‑time telework is not available. Telework may be eligible if the employee is a primary resident of Montana and receives supervisor approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.
Salary $49,381.00 - $51,438.00 per year.
