
BSA Specialist II - Investigations

Position Summary The BSA Specialist II – Investigations is responsible for in‑depth investigations escalated from alerting and monitoring processes and from enterprise‑wide referrals. The role requires a working knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC regulations, an understanding of banking products and services, and experience with anti‑money laundering software. Responsibilities include reviewing enterprise‑wide account holders and transactions for unusual or suspicious activity, documenting findings, and filing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as appropriate. The specialist supports overall BSA compliance under the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA Patriot Act, and the OFAC Compliance Program and Procedures.
What You’ll Do
Identify and analyze customer relationships for unusual and suspicious activity, including review of system‑generated Actimize alerts.
Provide accurate documentation of suspicious activity and recommend appropriate actions.
Prepare SARs and follow the review, documentation, and follow‑up steps outlined in the Bank’s BSA/AML Program.
Maintain confidentiality of reports and documentation as required by law.
Review legal requests, 314b reviews, law‑enforcement requests, fraud investigation referrals, and conduct account reviews from a BSA/AML/USA Patriot Act perspective.
Communicate internally with all lines of business to obtain additional information and further documentation to complete analysis of identified accounts, and provide recommendations for case resolution, including account closure.
Provide other assistance as requested to BSA/AML Officers in managing the Bank’s BSA/AML and OFAC Compliance Program.
Qualifications
3–5 years of banking experience and 3–5 years of BSA experience.
Working knowledge of laws, regulations and guidance related to BSA, AML and OFAC.
Experience preparing and filing SARs preferred.
Strong communication, critical thinking, problem‑solving and time‑management skills.
Experience with automated anti‑money‑laundering software preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation Hourly rate: $24.04–$31.25, depending on qualifications, skills and experience. Eligibility for an annual bonus.
