Provide assistance in monitoring grant funds, gathering data for grants, compiling information and submission of grants, and stay up to date with programming standards and expectations. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS

Education

A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Fiscal Management, or related field required. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred. Experience

2 years of experience in accounting, business, or related fields required. Effective communication skills; bilingual literacy in reading, writing, and speaking may be required in some positions. Fluency in the languages spoken by the families that the program serves is preferred. Clerical and/or tutorial skills required; basic administrative skills helpful on a limited basis. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

Strong Organizational skills and the ability to work with staff that possesses diverse educational and experiential backgrounds. Ability to mentor and coach others to increase their career skills. Basic knowledge of educational systems and curriculum, along with Head Start Performance Standards. Ability to attend to multiple responsibilities within both long- and short-range time frames. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong human relations skills. Valid Kansas Driver's License. The ability to keep information confidential. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the community and self‑assessment. Work with the management team using the data from the assessments to generate program goals. Use data from multiple sources to produce a grant in accordance with grant guidelines and program design. Communicate with Policy Council and the USD #443 Board of Education about the grant application process. Participate in the presentation of the financial information at Policy Council meetings as requested. Track and report Non‑Federal Share. Track all spend‑down requirements for HEAD START. Prepare budgets for all programs within Bright Beginnings Early Childhood Center. Use expenditure reports to ensure that all funding streams are in accordance with the original budget. Inventory purchase and disposition. Submit budget adjustments as needed following grant guidelines. Assign fund numbers and create budget narratives. Track food service information using CACFP for Head Start reporting. Prepare financial reports as required by each grant under BBECC. Monitor and report on Federal Interest Property. Prepare fiscal statements for audits, review teams, and programming accountability reports. Communications

Make regular formal presentations to community groups, policy council, funding sources and staff. Represent Head Start and the Bright Beginnings program in the local, state, regional and national communities. Act as a conduit for input and information, promote innovation at all levels, and be an effective advocate for staff, families and children. Organizational Challenges

Work closely with the Head Start Director/Principal in the coding of all expenses and the entry of information into the School District Financial program. Monitor financial statements for all Bright Beginnings Programs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment is in an office setting.
