
Community Engagement Coordinator

At MICAH House, we approach the crisis of homelessness from a trauma-informed perspective. We take an active role in breaking down the stigma of homelessness and believe this is a community initiative. While staying at MICAH House, our clients can rely on us during this transitional time to provide a safe space and connect them to programs and services that will promote self-reliance and self-care. The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the development department with public relations, fundraising, and communications. Creative and strategic, this person will develop innovative outreach and communication plans to meet MICAH House yearly goals, secure funds, attract supporters and speak to our mission across multiple channels. This individual will act as brand manager, ensuring mission, story, and brand identity are well-defined.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead the planning and execution of special events, community drives, and fundraising activities.
Conduct outreach efforts including public speaking, agency tours, volunteer fairs, and community presentations.
Support volunteer engagement by working with interested individuals and groups.
Collaborate closely with the Philanthropy Director to support fundraising initiatives and donor cultivation.
Assist with management of donor CRM, including donor records, reports, and maintenance.
Develop and maintain an annual marketing and communications plan aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee all agency social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), including strategy, posting, and engagement.
Create a content calendar to ensure consistent and strategic messaging across channels.
Write and design compelling, timely, and mission-driven content for social media, newsletters, email campaigns, texting, and contracted advertising.
Coordinate and direct photo/video shoots, media relations, and newspaper interviews.
Ensure brand consistency across all print and digital materials.
Maintain and update agency website content, design, and user experience.
Manage digital campaigns to enhance visibility and engagement.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public affairs, communications, journalism, business, public administration, or a related field
Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms (email, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Meta Business Suite)
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign) or comparable design software
Creative thinker with a knack for storytelling and engaging diverse audiences
Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with a team-first attitude
