Position Summary Do you know, understand, and have a passion for students? Do you thrive on building a team in a diverse/urban environment? Our student ministry team is looking for a high energy team player who will take our ministry to the next level!

Essential Position Responsibilities

Oversee all aspects of middle school and high school guys groups at our Lexington Campus:

Develop relationships in the community with schools and organizations in order to build bridges into culture to help reach lost and broken students.

Engage with the next generation by regularly attending extracurricular school activities (sporting events, school plays, concerts, etc.) as well as Southland After School Program.

Assist in planning/executing regular weekly gatherings for middle school and high school students that will challenge them to cultivate a genuine relationship with Jesus.

Serve as a member of the LEX Students teaching team.

Develop small group content/curriculum to help students go deeper in their walk with Jesus.

Recruit, train, and develop small group leaders who will lead and love our students and engage them in community.

Recruit, train, and develop an adult leader team for The Hub — the student version of Help Desk where students and parents are welcomed, checked-in, and Southland Students merch is sold.

Coordinate and organize local and/or global service trips for middle school and high school students.

Partner with parents to help them win at home and lead their student’s spiritual development.

Provide additional assistance and support as needed in other campus ministry areas.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Seasonal Support

Assist in the planning and execution of our trips for students:

MS/HS Camp trips with Lexington Campus (2 weeks in summer)

Fall Retreats with Lexington Campus (1 weekend in fall)

Winter Retreats with Lexington Campus (1 weekend in winter)

Campus Specific Responsibilities

Support, assist, and collaborate with Lexington Student Ministry Lead when needed and/or necessary.

Be present as a member of our Lexington Campus in the implementation of ministry strategy.

Help with walk-ins and other pastoral care as part of the staff rotation and assist with campus-specific events.

Familiarity with Google Calendar and the Google suite of products.

Follows the lifestyle guardrails of Southland and conducts their personal life according to the Bible’s instructions.

The schedule for this position is Sunday - Thursday and will include regular evening responsibilities.
